REVIVAL
Words and music by Winston Apple
The dream is over, the revival is about to begin
You're waiting at the station with a one-way ticket in your hand
Some of them paranoid boys left on maneuvers today
They're gonna cast out the demons, gonna make them pay
Gonna send them an invitation to stay for the revival
And you don't really wanna go to the revival
The caravan man can carry your soul away
He's taken all of your money
But there's one more game that he wants you to play
So you roll them bones so cold, you're gonna lose this time
You're screaming for mercy, he don't pay you any mind
He leaves you with nothing but a place in line at the revival
And you don't really wanna go to the revival
Oh, the lion and the lambs, mother and child
Hold the infants, you know they're getting pretty wild
They're gonna sleep in heavenly peace after a while
At the revival, yeah, at the revival
You've come a long way baby, but you've still got a long way to go
This ain't the end of the line, but it looks like the end of the road
You let that snake-eyed charmer teach you how to sew
Now the emperor is naked, he's not wearing any clothes
He turns on the dream machine and everybody goes to the revival
You don't really wanna go to the revival
But you gotta go, we all got to go
We all got to go sometime, we all got to go sometime
Now here we go...
